Supporting our children team
Supporting our children is about ensuring children in our care receive excellent parenting, whatever setting they are living in, with the same life chances as any other young person.
The focus within the service is to assess, review and support children and young people who live in long term care arrangements.
Team members are committed to supporting our children to have a great childhood and future outcomes, having the opportunity to get to know a young person and be part of their development whilst supporting them to either be reunified with family or a move through to independence.
They support children to achieve a plan of permanence within care proceedings and ensure we discharge care orders and achieve Special Guardian Orders for children, wherever it is possible and safe to do so.
Supporting our children and carers team
The supporting our children and carers team sits within the supporting our children service and is integral to supporting the children and young people of Blackpool to lead happy and healthy lives.
The team work to deliver targeted intervention with a level of flexibility and creativity that is specific to the individual needs of the child, young person or carer, focusing on developing hopes and goals for their own lives in a strengths-based approach to practice.
We are committed to supporting children to remain within their home wherever possible - this may be with parents, family members or any other carer. Work can be either a short term or longer-term intervention working with individuals or family units.
