There has never been a better time to take the next step in your professional management and leadership development. Blackpool Adult Social Care is in the unique and privileged position of having available two Service Manager roles within the adults department. These roles form part of the Senior Leadership Team but also have a direct operational influence supporting different teams across adult social care. Blackpool Council is a Unitary Local Authority supporting a population of around 140,000. Our leadership and operational management structure is lean which supports effective and efficient decision making. As a Service Manager you will be in a position of being able to make a real difference, have autonomy to lead our social care response and support the departments’ ongoing improvement journey. If you are looking for your next challenge and want to be able to make a difference, then Blackpool Adult Social Care is where you need to be. We have two Service Manager positions available (1) supporting our adult social care community and health linked services (2) supporting our learning disability and autism services.

This post represents a real opportunity to be part of shaping the direction of Adult Social Care improvement and delivery within Blackpool. You will be part of a strongly supportive, responsive and forward looking management team. We always put the people who use our services first, and work hard to ensure personalisation remains at the heart of what we do, keeping people safe, and assisting them to live full lives by achieving their potential.

We are currently exploring practice changes and have project sites implementing new ways of working. Alongside the Head of Service you will have project oversight and support frontline staff to adapt. You will contribute to discussions with staff and partners to evaluate and adapt the practice changes as they proceed.

You will need good strategic knowledge and extensive Social Work practice experience as well as supervisory management as we evaluate and prepare for CQC Assurance.

We offer a high quality Social Work service to our local community and you will need to be able to evidence and demonstrate strong and motivational leadership as well as experience of positive change management and quality improvement. We are looking for an enthusiastic leader, with energy, commitment and a clear problem-solving approach to help lead our managers to engage, coach, mentor and support our frontline staff.

If you want to be part of a dynamic department that aims to make a success of the emerging opportunities, share our commitment to delivering quality, and enjoy coming to work, we look forward to hearing from you.
